Olivia Clifton-Bligh is an award-winning sculptor and printmaker specialising in wood- and lino-cut techniques. For this commission, she drew inspiration from the flora and fauna in the chalk landscapes surrounding her studio at Bull Mill Arts in the Wylye Valley – an artists’ collective established by Lord Bath on the Longleat Estate.
These are hand burnished and illuminated linocut prints exploring the Irish Tree Ogham, an ancient bardic tradition which combines indigenous tree lore with old alphabetic and calendric systems.
