Emily Patrick is a figurative painter based in Greenwich. She has a degree in architecture from Cambridge University. She began painting portraits, including former Chairman of the Arts Council Lord Cottesloe; Diana, Princess of Wales; shoe designer Emma Hope and actor Sir Mark Rylance.

Her landscapes are often painted from a low eye level so that the viewer is immersed into the painting and the elements are intimately close. Although, she enjoys painting gardens she feels as though the patterns and colours are already completed and that painting them is like painting a picture of a sculpture. She finds the most interesting part of plants not the stalks or the flower heads but the area where it disappears into the soil “Flowers are the final trumpet call. Everything else comes first”.
